About
the Book
The Clone is a riveting tale that shows the readers just how cloning can go terribly wrong.
When
Chris Bent is born to a poor family, doctors use him to create a clone baby for
a
wealthy
couple. Many years down the road, Phillip Smith, the clone, starts to question
his existence. He ends up meeting and carrying on conversations with Chris when
he is assigned a project to write about someone coming from a poor environment.
When he sees a photo of Chris and realizes that they are identical, he starts to
look through hospital records.
Eventually Phillip learns that he is a clone. This angers him and he seeks revenge by first sleeping with Ruth, Chris’s fiancée, with whom he said he would not have sex until they were married. Ruth ends up pregnant and thinks that Chris does not care about her anymore when he denies sleeping with her. Phillip also commits several crimes, including poisoning residents of the nursing home that Chris was working at and framing Chris for the crimes.
The Clone offers an interesting story with surprising twists. It shows the readers what can happen in the future if cloning gets out of control.
